Since the 13th century the Venetian island of Murano has been a center of Italian glass production. Early in the 20th century Murano reestablished its dominance in the world of art glass by mixing traditional craft with the innovative designs of Modern artists and sculptors. Anzolo Fuga played a prominent role in this renaissance.

A multi-faceted artist from a glass-making dynasty, Fuga created designs for A.V.E.M.
